The SOP Information Board’s latest turf research & other (K)ey crops

Download SOP Information Board's latest research for turfgrass and other key crops today!

Just released by the Sulfate of Potash Information Board (SOPIB), Use of Potassium Sulfate Fertilizer: Principles and Practices is 137 pages of the latest agronomic and economic research findings on sulfate of potash (SOP). From practical advice on application methods, to agronomic research details – the SOPIB publication is a comprehensive resource for potassium and sulfur soil/plant nutrition.

The book includes plant-specific information for numerous crops; below highlights a few turfgrass key findings.

  • Turfgrasses have many more fibrous, branching roots – increasing the K absorbing surface. Turf K content, in turn, has a major influence on plant water relations and metabolic processes, often serving as a regulator of physiological reactions.
  • Potassium/phosphorus has synergistic effect on performance – 50 percentage growth increase was shown in Coastal Bermuda-grass when both P and K supple was at adequate levels.
